Help Keep Chaplaincy Alive at Glen Aplin State School!

For the past 13 years, I’ve had the absolute privilege of being a Chaplain and I’m still just as passionate today as I was when I started. Working with primary school children is a gift - and I love walking alongside students, families and staff, helping build strong foundations for life.

Sadly, childhood mental illness is on the rise in Australia, with children as young as 3 and 4 being diagnosed with depression and other mental health challenges. That’s why the role of a Chaplain is so important.

At Glen Aplin State School, I focus on prevention - equipping children (and their parents) with the tools, skills and experiences they need to face life’s challenges with confidence. Through fun and practical programs, we help kids grow socially and emotionally, giving them space to feel safe, valued and supported.

But chaplaincy is more than just programs. I get to stand with families when life gets tough — providing food through Brekkie Clubs and fruit breaks, linking people with community support, and making sure no one feels alone.

Your support helps make all of this possible. Every dollar raised goes straight back into keeping this vital support in our school.

If you can give a little, it can make a big difference in the life of a child and their family. Together, we can keep the heartbeat of Glen Aplin strong.

My Updates

A huge thank you to everyone who supported Glen Aplin State School at the races! 🐎

Monday 20th Oct
Fundraising is getting tougher in these financially challenging times, so every bit of support means the world. I loved working alongside our wonderful school community throughout the day and getting to know the Students even more as they helped out at the canteen. What a great team effort!

A Night to Remember in Glen Aplin

A Night to Remember in Glen Aplin

I absolutely love when a community comes together - and last night was the perfect example of that spirit in action.

The Glen Aplin Rural Fire Brigade, Glen Aplin Memorial Hall Committee, Glen Aplin CWA, Glen Aplin State School, and the Festival of Small Halls joined forces to put on a truly unforgettable evening.

There was great food, lively music, raffles, and plenty of dancing - the kind of night that reminds us all why small-town life is so special.

Thanks to the generosity of our local wineries and businesses, we raised over $500 through raffles - with all proceeds going toward keeping Chaplaincy at Glen Aplin State School. Every ticket sold, every prize donated, and every hand that helped made a difference. I was deeply humbled by the warmth and support from everyone who attended.

Nights like these remind me that when we come together as a community, we can achieve wonderful things — and have a lot of fun along the way. Here’s to more nights like this in Glen Aplin!

Supporting Chaplaincy one label at a time

Saturday 27th Sep

Behind every bottle of apple juice we sell is a team of generous hands who give their time to make it happen. Today, people came together to label, laugh, and lend a hand - all so chaplains can keep supporting our Granite Belt schools. Grateful for this community! 🍏❤️

A Huge Shout Out the Granite Belt Community

Friday 1st Nov
Thank you all so much for an amazing evening last night. Over 100 friends and family attended our annual chaplaincy fundraising dinner. I especially enjoyed sitting with 2 councillors and answering their questions about the service we provide. I was also so blessed to have Mrs Von Watt my Glen Aplin State School principal come and not only show her support but to open the evening by speaking about chaplaincy in her school. That was humbling as that is me. Thanks for the blessing and lets all be part of keeping it flow through our beautiful district.

Teen Street

Monday 8th Jul
What a priviledge to be part of a Teenstreet 2024 (youth camp) with over 230 teens.  So glad I get to serve in this way.  Literally being the hands and feet of Jesus.
