Chappy Neo - Amiens State School

Champion Your Chaplain

What could $5 a month do? More than you think.

☕For 1 coffee a month, you could:

  • Put a steady, caring presence in a small rural school.

  • Give a child someone safe to talk to before things spiral.

  • Support families and teachers carrying more than they should alone.

As all good farmers understand, like a crop, chaplaincy thrives with consistent support and long-term thinking. One-off donations help (please donate any amount you can), but monthly donations amount to a measurable and significant impact for years to come!

If enough people committed to a minimum of just $5 a monththe cost of one coffee, you could directly help:

  • Keep reliable chaplaincy hours at our school

  • More time spent with young people, families and staff who need support through difficult circumstances.

  • Build a sustainable chaplaincy role for years to come, not just for me, but for those who follow.

Your investment is sewn into the well-being of future generations in a community that looks after its own!

Be part of our community's legacy!
Be part of the solution!

👉Consider setting up a $5 monthly donation.

Small seed, consistently. Big impact, together.

My Updates

Tell me about your engineering prototype...

Monday 2nd Mar

I’m STOKED with the way this term has begun, stepping into chaplaincy across four unique school communities where consistent, relational support (strengthened by trusted local partnerships) is already making a meaningful difference for students, staff and families navigating complex challenges!!

My initial weeks at Amiens were intentionally focused on relationship-building (still are...). I prioritised visibility, casual chats, and a consistent presence. A couple of students required support through challenges recently and because relational trust had been established, their response de-escalated without behavioural escalation. The groundwork of connection proved SO VALUABLE!!

A meaningful reminder of the significance of the chappie role happened during my first week at Amiens. As a chappy, I sit with students on the floor during fruit break, assist with learning tasks, and engage in learning and play with them at their level, while still holding authority to speak into their lives! This relational posture creates a unique mentoring dynamic…. approachable like an older sibling mentor figure, yet still aligned with school authority structures. Such a distinct positioning provides an important bridge between student experience and adult guidance!!

Sometimes being a chappy is in crisis support and other times it is in simply listening to “the quiet student in the corner” open up and talk non-stop about an engineering prototype they are building. Both matter!! As we step into a new month, I’d love to invite you to partner with us again and make a donation! Your continued support for Amiens keeps our school community strong and supported.
