Champion Your Chappy

I'm fundraising for... Chappy Amy

Hello, my name is Amy, and I am the Chappy at Mitchelton State School. Chaplaincy is such an amazing job as we get to do so many amazing things and be involved in so many young people's lives on a day-to-day basis. I work at Mitchelton four days a week and do lots during the day!

On Monday, Wednesday and Friday I get here at 7am to start preparation to feed the kid's breakfast! This is done with the amazing support of YMCA donating 10L of milk and 7 loaves of bread per brekkie club day!

On the days I am here, I also do pastoral care conversations with kids and staff. This is a wellbeing check in where we talk about what is happening and what opportunities there are to move forward or who we can ask for additional support. That can be ranging from being just a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen or creating coping tools and equipping them with strategies to keep going and enjoy a preferred outcome. This looks like playing games, sitting on the sofa, walking around the school or sometimes sitting on the floor in the classroom with a child who is having a challenging day.

I also do dance parties, clubs, life skill groups and classes and play games at break!

I also help provide school supplies and uniforms through local community organisations.

I am looking to raise money to support keeping chaplaincy in this school. Would you partner with me and help provide this service to the children?

There are ongoing opportunities to support the Chaplaincy service at Mitchelton through volunteering or financially. If you would like to discuss further any of these opportunities please let me know.
