Pancake Breakfast

Good morning,

I wanted to share a quick update and thank you for your ongoing support of chaplaincy at Mount Gravatt East State School.

This morning we hosted a Pancake Breakfast for our school community. It was wonderful to see students arriving with smiles on their faces, enjoying breakfast together, and spending time with friends before the school day began.

Moments like these may seem simple, but they create opportunities for connection, conversation, and relationship-building within our school community. As a chaplain, these shared experiences help foster a sense of belonging and provide natural opportunities to connect with students and families.

Your support makes it possible for chaplaincy to be present in these moments and continue providing care, encouragement, and support to our students throughout the year.

Teachers vs Students Futsal Match

Monday 27th Jul What an incredible afternoon! Our Teachers vs Students Futsal Match was a fantastic success, bringing students and staff together for an afternoon of fun, laughter and friendly competition. The excitement on the court was matched by the encouragement from the sidelines, creating a positive atmosphere that strengthened relationships across the school. Opportunities like these are a valuable part of chaplaincy, helping students connect with trusted adults, build a sense of belonging and create positive memories together. Caring beyond the classroom

One of the greatest privileges of being a school chaplain is getting to walk alongside students every day. But sometimes, caring for a student also means caring for the family behind them.

This week, we were able to put together a number of food hampers for families in our school community who are doing it tough. These hampers are more than just groceries—they're a practical reminder that people care, that they're seen, and that they don't have to face difficult seasons alone.

We also want to thank the local organisations and community partners who have generously offered to support our Breakfast Club and future community initiatives. Your generosity is helping us create opportunities to care for families in meaningful and practical ways.

As School Chaplain, my role is about more than supporting students during the school day. It's about building relationships, strengthening families, and helping create a school community where everyone feels valued and supported.

I believe that even small acts of kindness can make a lasting impact, and Im grateful to everyone who continues to invest in the wellbeing of our school community. Together, we're making a real difference—one family, one conversation, and one act of kindness at a time.
