Supporting School Chaplaincy at Kenmore State High School

At Kenmore, for the past three years we have had two chaplains - Fiona and Justin.  Having a male and female has offered the students options when seeking support. 

Chaplains are in the school to provide a listening ear and  a caring presence to students as they journey through the challenges of daily life.  At our school the role focuses on pastoral care -  helping students  from grades 7 to 12, deal with friendship issues, grief and loss, mental health struggles, parental separation and many other life events.

We are facing the tough reality of losing a valuable member of our team – Fiona, and are seeking community assistance to bridge the gap in the funding. We would love your help to enable us to keep both chaplains at Kenmore. 

Fiona has built a great rapport with students. She holds a Master of Psychology degree and works alongside the Student Support team to achieve the very best outcomes for our young people.

Fiona and Justin are 2 inspirational, dedicated, professional, ethical, compassionate, hard working individuals who go above and beyond to provide a vital service to students which would otherwise be missing. They are there for students when very often no one else is or can’t be. They are authentic, warm and approachable. By having a team comprised of a male and a female, they are able to meet the needs of students which might otherwise be neglected or fall through the net. It is vitally important that this dedicated team be able to continue. Please consider making a donation of whatever amount you’re able to so that Fiona can continue working with Justin to support our young people become who they deserve to be and not be disadvantaged by whatever might be holding them back from reaching their potential.
