SU Coast to Coast Chaplaincy Challenge

My Activity Tracking

77
kms

My target 76 kms

I'm fundraising for children in need of hope, food, belonging, fun, love and care.

Many of the kids we work with are in need of simple but vital stuff such as breakfast, friendships, confidence, hope, belonging, respect, fun, care and love and your donations will help me and SU to continue our work in the community.
Within the SU Coast-to-Coast Challenge, I am setting out to run 46.6km in the week between the 19th and the 26th of May and you can cheer me on by donating a dollar, $5, $10, $?? towards each km I will run. Your support of me will help us continue to organise, create, and run programs for young people and children such as camps, breakfast clubs, holiday clubs, school chaplaincy, beach missions, and emerging leader development training.

My Updates

Day 7 - 9 km run via water, sand, rocks and sheep

Saturday 25th May

68 km done in 8 days and only 7 km short of 76 km and my set distance goal! Thank you to everyone who has cheered me on so far (We are only quite a few dollars short but let's see how far we can go).

While I was running (walking and climbing) along the sand, over rocks, through the paddock and the waves today I was contemplating about thankfulness - being thankful for the beautiful day, the sunshine, time to run and be outside, but also for the children and young people in our state, the work we can do for and with the kids. I am so grateful for your support and being on team with you!

Tomorrow (Sunday 26th) is the Grand Finale from 2 to 4pm and you can join in

Day 6 - back to running and another 10km added to raise funds for children in need of acceptance, hope, and opportunities

Saturday 25th May
Only two days to go until the Coast-to-Coast Challenge 2024 will conclude in the Grand Finale on Sunday 26th of May. I am currently only 8km short of my 76km goal and am running what I can because I truly believe that together we can make a difference in children's lives and in what tomorrow can look like. There is still time to support us and to help me meet my fundraising target!
Or come along and join in the SU Coast-to-Coast 2024 Grand Finale on Sunday 26th of May! 2:00 to 4:00pm

Day 5: ... so that they become servants of this world in need

Friday 24th May
I realise that the needs of children in this world are currently enormous but I strongly believe that if we nurture kids and young people today, enable them to break the cycle or provide them with leadership training opportunities we literally can change the world. That's why I absolutely love the SU mission statement! Will you support us by making a small or large donation?
My legs desperately needed a rest from running today so I added 12.57km on the bike and then Snork and I added another 5km over a leisurely evening walk.

Day 4: $1,263 and 36 km to go!

Wednesday 22nd May
Today I was accompanied by my personal trainer!

Day 3 - chipping away

Wednesday 22nd May
Another 7.48km done on an early, quite cold morning in Hobart.
It's not too late for signing up yourself https://sutas.org.au/coast-to-coast-info/
Not sure whether my 76km and $2,000 fundraising goals are still achievable but let's see how we go. Your support and encouragement - no matter how big or small - will go a long way! Thank you

Day 2 - another 2.75km!

Monday 20th May
Well, I said that I am fundraising for kids and young people but what actually for? We run many programs for children like camps for example that help children build friendships, grow in self-confidence, and experience community, respect, acceptance and belonging.

76 in a 8 days

Sunday 19th May
Today was the first day of the SU Coast-to-Coast Challenge and what a glorious day it was! Since there were some friends in QLD who have now set their goals first at 70 km and one km was added to another we are now up to 76km. Let's see how this will go.
Thank you for your support - I am totally blown away by your generosity!
